Description : The Mission centre was founded in 1914 and taken over in 1931.
The Math centre was started in 1986.
Activities of the Math centre :
  • A small library and a reading room with 2930 books and 13 newspapers and periodicals.
  • Daily worship, regular religious discourses, occasional lectures, and celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other religious prophets. A three-day annual devotees’ meet was also held this year.

  • A higher secondary school with 775 students.
  • A junior basic school with 133 boys and 48 girls.
  • A students’ home with 150 boys.
  • Four non-formal education centres in rural areas with 132 students.
  • A school library with 12,984 books.
  • A charitable dispensary with allopathic and homoeopathic sections, which treated 45,784 patients this year.
  • A gymnasium for students and a dairy.
  • Welfare work by way of distribution of woollen garments, children’s garments and so on.

Description : The Vidyapith was started in 1958.
Activities of the Mission centre :
  • A higher secondary school (roll strength 767). The attached school library had 33,479 books and 87 periodicals during the year. Its hostel had 759 boarders.
  • A coaching centre for 134 poor boys of the locality.
  • A mobile audio-visual unit, which screened 56 films, benefitting 31,830 villagers.
  • A charitable allopathic-cum-homoeopathic dispensary, which treated 45,885 patients this year. It has special clinics for leprosy patients and for immunization of children.
  • A miniature zoo and an archaeological and science museum.
  • A dairy and a poultry farm.
  • Religious activities: Regular religious discourses, and celebration of the birthdays of spiritual luminaries.

Description : The centre was started in 1952 and made a branch of the Mission in 1966.
Activities of the Mission centre :
  • A high school and a junior basic school with 992 and 145 students respectively.
  • A night school with 58 scheduled caste boys, four non-formal education centres with 185 students, a free coaching centre with 107 students, and nine adult education centres for women with 268 students.
  • Three hostels with 150 boys.
  • A library with 7435 books, and 7 newspapers and periodicals.
  • An allopathic-cum-homoeopathic dispensary, which treated 11,002 cases this year.
  • Self-employment programmes, distribution of clothes, milk, medicines, and so on, providing pecuniary and other types of help to the poor for house-repairing, etc, digging of bore-wells and construction of community toilets in rural areas.
  • Religious activities: Daily worship, celebration of the birth anniversaries of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda.

Started in 1941, this centre runs several institutions.
Activities of the Mission centre :
  • Vidyamandira is a residential degree college in arts and science—including two applied subjects, termed major courses, namely computer applications and industrial chemistry—with 513 students in graduate level courses. The postgraduate courses (MA and MSc) had 48 students. Regular classes were conducted on The Spiritual Heritage of India for the students during the year.
  • Sikshanamandira is a residential BEd college with 152 students.
  • Shilpamandira is a polytechnic, providing three-year diploma courses in civil, electrical and mechanical engineering. It had 504 students this year. The community polytechnic attached to it trained 378 students in different trades. Shilpayatana has two divisions: a junior technical school (NCVT) with 64 students and a higher secondary vocational section with 79 students. Shilpavidyalaya is a technical institute affiliated to NCVT, providing training courses in draughtsmanship, plumbing, electrical works and electronics to 164 students.
  • Computer training centre with 1432 students in different courses during the year.
  • Samaj Sevak Sikshanamandira, a residential agro-based training centre for educating and training unemployed rural youths in various trades and rural development activities. 2085 youths were trained through 78 different training programmes during the year. The institute has entered into a tie-up with NABARD and United Bank of India to function as a Rural Development and Self-Employment Training Institute (RUDSETI).
  • Janasikshamandira, the unit working for the welfare and uplift of rural population, ran the following : (a) vocational and technical training courses such as TV repairing, carpentry, book-binding, etc, (b) 20 non-formal education centres for school drop-out students and inmates of correctional homes (with 607 beneficiaries this year), (c) five adult education centres (with 147 women), (d) a free coaching centre (with 60 students), (e) two units of State Open School for secondary and higher-secondary students (with 196 students), (f) a library with 25,812 books, (g) health care activities like constructing 524 low-cost toilets and conducting 103 medical camps (eye and general) (17,812 patients treated), and (h) village level workers’ training centre for youths and children.
  • The production and publication department serves as a small training wing to impart training to some unemployed youths. There is a sales section for the various items produced in this department as well as literature published by different centres and also metal stands and photo-folders.
  • Tattwamandira is the central unit, where religious classes for the public and scriptural classes for the monastic members are held regularly, and Jagaddhatri Puja is performed every year.

Description : Started in 1921, this ashrama has reconstructed Sarisha village, mainly by providing education to villagers.
Activities of the Mission centre :
  • A boys’ higher secondary school with 1235 students, and a hostel with 190 boys, of whom 11 enjoyed concession.
  • A girls’ madhyamik school with 1086 students, and a hostel with 141 girls, of whom 3 enjoyed concession.
  • Four units of junior basic school with a total of 306 boys and 352 girls.
  • One nursery school with 98 children.
  • Two units of primary teachers’ training institute for women.
  • A technical section for women, which trained 97 girls, and a vocational training centre, which trained 40 girls.
  • Libraries: The public library with two branches had 25,196 books and 10 periodicals and newspapers, and the six libraries attached to schools had 15,768 books and 13 newspapers and
  • periodicals.
  • Medical service for rural people in collaboration with Seva Pratishthan, Kolkata, and a homoeopathic dispensary, which
  • treated 6849 cases.
  • A community centre for women with 66 trainees.
  • A mobile audio-visual unit.
  • Religious activities : Celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other religious personalities.
