The Auspicious 150th Birthday Tithipuja of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated in our Math on Sunday, 15th January 2012 (date according to Indian Calendar). Programes were held on whole day; programes included: Special Puja to Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda, Homa, Vedic Chanting, Sri Siva Sahasranama Basma Archanana, Speeches in Tamil and English and Bhajans by monks and students, etc.

The Government of India had declared Swami Vivekananda's Birthday, January 12th, as the National Youth Day. This year (2012), as on earlier years, Math had held an essay competition for the youth and the winners were felicitated on the National Youth Day (also referred to as 10th National Youth Day Competition') Function held, on 12th, at Math pemises.

Also Math has introduced a new 3D Holographic Display and a new 3D Theatre in Vivekananda House (or 'Vivekanandar Illam'), Triplicane, Chennai to popularize life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda among the youth. These new facilities were dedicated to public on this January 12th, the National Youth Day.
