         Sri pubT1Ramakrishna Math, Publication Department is one of the leading publication houses in India. It was started in the year 1908 by Swami Ramakrishnananda, a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna. From its inception, the Publication Department has played a prominent role in propagating the universal message of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. The books published had been an infallible source of inspiration to the millions of spiritual seekers across the world. The books of our Ramakrishna Order form the source of rich spiritual heritage of India.

      

PubT2The Department has in its catalogue over 1500 titles on a wide range of spiritual topics. The topics include Life and Teachings of the Holy Trio (Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda), Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, Yoga, Philosophy, Meditation, Spiritual life, Character building, Stories for children. The books are available in English, Tamil and Sanskrit. To cater the needs of the people of all classes, the books are low-priced and highly subsidized. Two monthly Magazines are being published from our Math. They are

 

  • Sri Ramakrishna Vijayam: Started in the year 1921, it is one of the largest circulated Tamil monthly magazines. The Magazine has over one lakh subscribers in India and Abroad.  Every year, the magazine conducts competitions on various themes connected with Swami Vivekananda. The magazine contains articles on life and teachings of the Holy Trio (Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda), Scriptures, Personality development and Instructions for students.
  • The Vedanta Kesari:  A cultural and spiritual monthly of the Ramakrishna Order. It was started at the instance of Swami Vivekananda in 1895 as Brahmavâdin, it assumed the name The Vedanta Kesari in 1914. The Magazine contains articles on Vedanta expounded by Swami Vivekananda, Scriptures and Indian spiritual traditions etc. Every Year, the magazine brings out a special annual issue based on popular themes. Some of these issues are serialized and published as books.

       The publication showroom is in the Math Campus and at the Central and Egmore Railway Stations. Books published from other centres of Ramakrishna Order are also available here. Books are available in English, Tamil, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu and Malayalam. CD’s and Cassettes on Bhajans, Vedic and Gita chanting, Photographs of the Holy Trio (Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda), Direct Disciples and Other articles are available in the showroom. A Special discount of upto 40% on books is available on selected festival days of our Math.

  1. At Math Campus   : 9.30 am to 1.00 pm & 3.30 pm to 8.00 pm
  2. At Egmore Station : 8.00 am to 8.00 pm
  3. At Central Station  : 6.00 am to 10.30 pm
